"My work should call to you from across the room... then enchant you when you've come over."
Wood Artist
Jim Brandon is a wood artist living in Pisgah Forest, Western North Carolina. This area is well known for its wide variety of hardwood species including maple, walnut, oak, hemlock, cedar, cherry, sourwood, mountain laurel, holly, ash, sycamore, and many more. The majority of his raw materials originate from either his (or his neighbor's) property, or within a short drive/hike from home. There's not a burl or root-ball that isn't being eyed as potential raw material for a new project.
Jim's work tends to incorporate multi-media into his turned projects, including metal, concrete, barbed wire, and colored dyes. Balance is sometimes skewed, and soft, smooth, sharp, and harsh effects are often combined for dramatic effect. Please feel free to contact Jim through this website, or email at: [email protected] |
